The story of High Brow Wines began with Judy Lubben and her son DJ embarking on a journey of discovery and passion for winemaking. Their path to becoming vintners started with Winery 101 and Vineyard Management courses under the guidance of Lucas McIntire, where they not only gained essential knowledge but also formed lasting connections with fellow enthusiasts.

Inspired by their newfound love for the craft, Judy and DJ decided to delve deeper into the world of winemaking by taking on the challenge of managing a vineyard for a year. With the mentorship of Ron Waite at Wapsi Valley Vineyard, they immersed themselves in the hands-on work of grape cultivation, learning valuable lessons along the way. This period of exploration and learning laid the foundation for what would eventually become High Brow Wines, a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to their winemaking dreams.
